Standards for Methods and Facilities for Storage, Clearance, and Disposal of Industrial Waste
Regulatory Provision
According to Article 36 of the Waste Disposal Act and Article 7 of the Standards for Methods and Facilities for Storage, Clearance, and Disposal of Industrial Waste, the storage period for hazardous industrial waste shall not exceed one year. If an extension is required, the application must be submitted to the local competent authority where the storage facility is located two months prior to the expiration date. Only one extension is permitted, and the extended period shall not exceed one year.
Penalties

If the violation results in death, the penalty is life imprisonment or imprisonment of not less than seven years, and may be accompanied by a fine of up to NT$30 million.

If the violation results in serious injury, the penalty is imprisonment of not less than three years but not more than ten years, and may be accompanied by a fine of up to NT$25 million.

If the violation causes harm to human health resulting in disease, the penalty is imprisonment of not less than one year but not more than seven years, and may be accompanied by a fine of up to NT$20 million.

Precautions for Biomedical Waste Disposal

Garbage bags must be labeled with unit/teacher, extension number, and date.

Waste containers should be filled up to 80% capacity, and the bag must be tightly sealed.

Collection time: Every Monday before 13:05 (if a holiday falls on Monday, notification will be given before 12:00 noon on Monday to the Environmental Safety Office).

Collection location: In front of the Octagonal Tower on the 1st floor of the Phase I Teaching Building (opposite the bus stop).

Before disposal, please notify the Environmental Safety Office in advance
