Category A substances: Substances specified under Item 1 of Appendix 1.

Category D substances: Substances specified under Item 4 of Appendix 1.

When workers engage in operations involving designated chemicals, an on‑site supervisor must be appointed as the designated chemical operations supervisor to oversee the work.

Prior to operations, a designated chemical operations checklist must be implemented.

Protective equipment must be properly used (respiratory protective equipment, impermeable protective clothing, gloves, protective footwear, safety goggles, etc.).

Smoking or eating is prohibited in designated chemical operation areas, and warning notices must be clearly displayed at the site.

When using designated chemicals, if there is a risk of contamination to the body or clothing, facilities for eye washing, showering, rinsing, changing clothes, and laundering must be provided. For Category C Type 1 substances, Category D substances, chromic acid and its salts, or dichromic acid and its salts, emergency eye wash and shower facilities must also be installed in the workplace.

According to Article 38, Paragraph 2 of the Standards for Hazard Prevention of Designated Chemicals, local exhaust ventilation systems must be equipped with devices to monitor static pressure, airflow velocity, or other indicators showing normal operation. Such systems must be professionally designed, maintained for performance, and documented in a design report as specified in Appendix 2. After installation, initial performance testing must be conducted, and an original performance test report prepared as specified in Appendix 3. Relevant documents and records must be retained for ten years (local exhaust systems installed before July 1, 2023 are exempt).
