Listed Toxic and Concerned Chemicals

★ Notes:

  1. In the event of a toxic chemical disaster at the workplace, the Environmental Protection Bureau must be notified within 30 minutes.

  2. When handling toxic chemicals, the site supervisor must register and manage the types, quantities, floor plan, and on-site Safety Data Sheets (SDS, within 3 years) in the MOE Chemical Management and Reporting System.

    • During emergency rescue operations involving toxic and concerned chemicals in laboratories, each unit must immediately assign personnel to the site to assist in disaster response.

  3. Laboratories handling toxic chemicals may use their unit’s floor plan or software such as drawing tools, Word, or PowerPoint to create diagrams. The diagrams must be saved as JPG files and uploaded to the MOE Chemical Management and Reporting System. The floor plan must include the following information: (1) Internal dimensions of the laboratory, drawn to scale (with length and width indicated). (2) Internal facilities such as fume hoods, lab benches, chemical cabinets, sinks, etc. (3) Entrances, exits, and escape routes. (5) GHS characteristics of chemical cabinets. (6) Placement and types of gas cylinders. (7) Locations for handling and storing chemicals/toxic substances, and placement of protective equipment.
